Title:Clinical Personnel (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, LMSW)- Float Position

Direct Supervisors:Clinical Director, Human Resource Director

Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in social or behavioral sciences field and licensed by the State of Maine to provide clinical services as and LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or LMSW (must be full licensed, not currently accepting clinical conditional clinicians). All employees must demonstrate non-chemical or addiction dependency or be free of chemical or addiction dependency for the past two years.

Function:
Clinical Counselor with Blue Willow Counseling, is a professional position involving the delivery of clinical services to individuals and families with mental health and substance abuse related issues. The Clinical Counselor functions as a member of the treatment team in the delivery of services and may be required to provide services in Portland and Augusta on an as needed basis with the primary home site in Lewiston. The location of the clinician is based on business need as determined by the Clinical and HR directors, not clinician preference. Clinical counselors must be competent to facilitate a 3 or 5-day a week Intensive Outpatient Program, Outpatient Substance Abuse group and Individual Substance Abuse or Mental Health Treatment.  In addition, clinical counselors will be required to collaborate with Federal Probation, State Probation, DHHS, DEEP or Drug Court.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages a minimum clinical caseload of up to 25 clients.
  • Conducts client interviews and one to one counseling for evaluation and assessment of client’s problems and treatment needs.
  • Maintain client records as required by Licensing, MaineCare and Blue Willow policy standards. 
  • Coordinate a consolidated treatment plan that reflects the assessment made, the identified clinical problems, and the input of other team members.
  • Facilitates and directs group counseling.
  • Documents in the client’s case record in a timely manner throughout the client’s course of treatment.
  • Conducts counseling with families, employers and other community agencies.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other agencies or professionals that will best serve the client’s needs.
  • Conduct seminars and workshops in a variety of settings to educate and raise the level of understanding of mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Completes Aftercare Plan with clients.
  • Maintains at all times a professional relationship and adheres the Professional Code of Ethics.
  • Maintains appropriate contact with referral sources:
    • Returns telephone inquiries, and
    • Sends, aftercare information, i.e. progress notes, after care plans, discharge plans in a timely fashion.
  •  Shows personal incentive for growth and development; encouragement is given to individuals to continue to seek experience and training which will enhance his/her ability to work more effectively with the mental health and substance abuse population.
